I gave this TMX eXtra Special Edition to my grandson on his first birthday and he was immediatly the entertainment for the whole crowd. I have 13 grandchildren and this is the #1 purchase I’ve ever made. Wonderful toy.

2007 – Old Model

We choose this product thinking it would be basic Elmo plus additional features failing to notice that this is a older model from 2007. Only has one functional hand. Elmo’s mouth is also non functional as the newer models. Lesson learnt, seller would charge for shipping for returning this product. So, we decided to keep it. Our son likes it a lot, but we think the newer models are much better.

The one I got didn’t work. If you tickle the belly it would work, but the rest didn’t. After fiddling with it a lot I got it to work a few times (but not all the time). It is not as funny as the original, the laugh is a lot more artificial to me, so not as funny as I remember the original to be.

I’m not a parent: I purchased this for my nephew’s Christmas present (he’s 7 months old). I had some doubts as it seems to be a toy for “older” kids.
The packaging is great and was a lot of fun and I’m a sucker for “cute”.
My mom took it out of the box right away for my nephew and everyone stopped opening Christmas presents to watch the Elmo laugh and roll. It brought a lot of laughter to all of us. I feel that it’s a big, heavy toy for a “stuffed animal”. I do not think that it’s a “cuddle” toy. But, my nephew is a pretty stoic 7 month old and was fascinated by the movement and wasn’t trying to go after the toy with his sticky jam hands to eat it or anything. Since this is my mom’s first grandchild, I think we are all just pretty amazed with the toy and enjoyed the novelty of it. Personally, I think the laughter would get to me if it was all day, but it’s at my sister’s house and not mine so I’m alright with that. My sister thinks it’s the best and loves the cookie monster one I got too. I was pretty happy with the toy for the price, the novelty, and the “cool aunt” factor I got.

this thing is hilarious. you never know what it will do next and it never does the same thing twice. my 4 year old (and all his friends) LOVES this. he plays with it every day and it only occasionally gets annoying (to the adults). Easy on batteries and can take all the roughousing an active 4 year old can dish out. If your kid loves Elmo you gotta get this.

I knew what I needed to know before I purchased and that was the fact that all this Elmo does is laugh and dance. We purchased this for our 16 month old grandson for Christmas. He got 3 other versions of Elmo and the TMX is his favorite. It is easy for him to work by himself and he loves it. It’s a shame that the aren’t making this particular one anymore.

Mollie is, believe it or not, 16. She has wanted an Elmo for years and I decided this year she would get one. Why not, she needs someone in the car with her, right? This was possibly her favorite gift, and she played with it til the batteries ran out! (THANK GOD) and this is from all her friends, her siblings and yes her grandpa and me. I really didn’t know that Elmo could be so annoying! But she loves him and has made the rounds of Christmans parties and New years with Elmo in tow, entertaining everyone to the point of destruction, or I should say distraction, right, right, distraction, thats it.
Elmo is wonderfully agile and happy, happy, happy! Any child 18 months+ would be entertained for hours with this Happy little guy and parents would be able to curtail, limit, or hide the fun when necessary. I would recomend this toy to all ‘young’ very young children as a stellar gift! But for an almost not child, soccer playing, car driving, shopping til they drop teenage girl, No, under no circumstances, not a good gift. I can get affidavits on that if you wish. Her bff, her hhbl(hunk a hunk of burning love) would like to throw it out a window, going very fast down a major highway……………..in heavy traffic.
But Mollie? She really loves Elmo. He was possibly her favorite gift!!

Cute toy, does what it is expected to do, but not cuddly by any means. Very robotic. Bought it for my 1yr old, as she loves Elmo… and she liked it until we turned it on then she kicked it and couldn’t get away from it fast enough. I think an older child would enjoy it’s antics. We’ve shelved it for now….

It does only the basic thing. It stops in the middle when it is “unlocked” with the special codes. Basically, it was broken when we got it. The kids still love it, but I am MAD MAD MAD that it does not do what it was supposed to do for $40!

I was pleasantly surprised when we took this toy out of the box… I thought he just sang & giggled when tickled, but once we removed the tab from his foot Elmo would throw himself on the ground, slap his leg, & kick his feet while laughing! My niece loves him!!

I bought this toy for my 3 year old son for Christmas after a friend highly recommended it. I had it shipped to my work location and opened it up to see how cute it was. Many of us were laughing as hard as Elmo. This toy is good for just about any age.

He does more moves, and does them well, but he’s hard as a brick, and the voice isn’t as cute. Novelty item more than anything. The Elmo Pizza guy is a lot cuter, and less expensive.

…hmm..I had buy all types of elmos for the past 10 years…this is the funiest of all. All of my family enjoy this toy my nieces, my nephews my uncles my mother…everybody …best of all it comes with batteries that last forever or so it appears. Can’t wait for more hints.

My 21 month old calls him “Melmo” and he loves him. Great entertainment for my son (and his older brothers and most adults). He got the toy at 15 mos and really couldnt figure out how to leave him alone when he got to giggling and did his thing…so Elmo got knocked over a lot. Now really gets a kick out him and takes him everywhere. Definitely worth the money…well at least we got our money’s worth!

He doesn’t really work all the time, and my child is bored of him already. Way too expensive for what you get. I probably wouldn’t buy this toy again. The “secret” sequences are way too complicated to remember, and not worth any of the work. Tickle Me Lame-o is what this should be called, unless the price is lowered $15.00.

I bought this for my two-year old toddler son because he was starting to like Elmo on Sesame Street. He is in LOVE with this toy, he bring it with him everywhere, he hugs his Elmo and kisses his Elmo. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. And everyday when he watches Sesame Street, he runs and grabs his Elmo and Big Bird dolls and puts them up to the tv screen to show the characters on tv.

I bought this toy for my son’s first Christmas. He was far to young (7.5 months) to push the right spots on command and figure out Elmo’s special tricks, HOWEVER… he really loves this toy! He smiles and laughs at it…he has learned to crawl towards it… sometimes he does hit the right spot and is so proud when Elmo giggles! I do wish the body was a bit more padded, however the animation built into this toy is amazing! This toy is also on the LOUD side… we have to play it in a spacious room, it scared my son in his crib or a small room. A volume control would be a nice addition.
Overall, my whole family enjoys this TMX eXtra Special Edition Elmo! We play with him several times a week!

I HAVE NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD IN MY LIFE. ELMO IS JUST ALL OF IT! I GOT HIM FOR MY LITTLE SISTER ( WHO IS IN HER 50′S) FOR CHRISTMAS. I COULDN’T WAIT TO WEB UP TO GET ALL THE EXTRA STUFF ELMO DOES AND WE ARE STILL LAUGHING OVER THOSE.
